A Must Read 7 Things You Should Stop Doing To Yourself

Description

Is it not a little strange that as much as we love ourselves, certain actions of ours do say otherwise? More puzzling is as much as we claim to be our best friend, we could also be our greatest enemy?

Here are 7 things we can stop doing to ourselves to regain happiness.

1. STOP SPENDING TIME WITH PEOPLE WHO UNDERVALUE YOU
It must be said that people who value self-esteem would desperately avoid those who constantly puts them down and make them feel less of themselves. There is nothing that drives one nuts than trying too hard and going the extra mile to please a person- who might simply not appreciate what you did or value who you are.

2. STOP DECEIVING YOURSELF
While you can fool everyone, there are two people you can’t fool- God and yourself. Claiming something like…you are a descendant of Dangote or Adenuga is your related ancestor means that you need a thorough diagnosis. Self-deception, without self-correction ultimately leads to self-destruction.

3. STOP TRYING TO BE SOMEONE YOU ARE NOT
Imitation, they say is the best form of flattery. You must have heard that alot, haven’t you? Not having confidence in yourself is the greatest disservice and injustice you can do to no other than yourself. Being natural doesn’t require a lot of energy than being a shadow of someone else.

4. STOP TRYING TO PLEASE EVERYONE
Except you have an health insurance or you are immune to emotional attacks, trying to please everyone would only leave you powerless like our abandoned refineries. Such efforts and time could better be used for a marketing job instead.

5. STOP TRYING TO BUY HAPPINESS
Some of the things we desire in life are free. Talk about love, laughter, etc, etc. Money certainly is inadequate to buy it, isn’t it? The only person that can either make you happy or sad is you. This, I tell you, feels a whole lot better than anything.

6. STOP COMPLAINING AND FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF
Rather than organising a pity party and enjoy feeling sorry for yourself, or others feeling sorry for you, why not shake yourself off and move on. Complaining and self-pity will not help in any form (except losing weight and looking like you were auditioning for the role of distressing grandmother).

7. STOP LIMITING YOURSELF
Aside God, there is no one that can limit us except us. Again. It’s safe to say that no man can exceed beyond the limit he sets for himself. If we could have a man walk on the moon, who says you can’t do press-ups on the sun? Nothing is impossible, folks, nothing.
