Man, 46, rapes girl, 12, to death

Forty six year old Emmanuel Chukwunyere from Amaegbu in Nkwere Local Government Area of Imo State has been arrested by the police in Owerri for raping to death, a 12 year old girl, Ifunanya Favour Ibe of Umugara Nkwere village in Imo State.
 Chukwunyere was described as a long term serial rapist terrorizing the area until luck ran against him. Parading him at Umugara Nkwere Monday, the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Musa Kastina, said Emmanuel lured the girl into his house, raped her consistently and kept her in captivity before she died. He said the man carried the corpse of the girl and dumped it in a pit. The man relocated to another village called Umugba in Abia State. After a short while, according to the commissioner, he returned to his village where he got caught.
The commissioner said the man was discovered to be involved in ritual murders from 2004 till date.  Emmanuel Chukwunyere admitted his actions, saying the girl was among the little girls that pestered him for gifts.  He said she requested for his phone which he obliged and later invited her to his house where he raped her.
“Initially the girl refused but I forced her and after she died I carried her around midnight and dumped her in a well”, he said, adding that he was born a bastard.
